Susan Tague Dip PFS, Director

Susan is a fully qualified Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) and has been in financial services since 1989. Her professional background includes many years working for Barclays where she gained a solid grounding in the financial markets. In order to fully utilise her knowledge and expertise for the benefit of her clients, she realised that not being tied to specific financial institution was the way forward. So in 1989 she decided to strike out on her own.
At the time Susan was one of only 4% of female IFA’s in the country, and since then her success has helped to pioneer the way forward for women in this field. With her wealth of knowledge within the industry coupled with her ability to communicate clearly and in a language clients understand, she has earned a reputation for excellence with her many long standing clients. Susan specialises in a wide range of financial advisory services including, trusts, pensions, tax and wealth planning.
Outside the office Susan is a volunteer for the Hillingdon Foundation Trust (NHS), holds a voluntary position on the Board of Directors for a local management business in Harrow and enjoys a wide range of sporting activities such as rugby, Ceroc dancing, singing in a choir and snorkelling. Add to this, fine food, wine, walking and piano playing and you can understand why her sparkling personality makes her one of the most sought IFA’s in the area.
Ian Starkey AFPS, Chartered Financial Planner, Certified Financial Planner Locum

Ian’s long association and professional standing with Altero makes him the perfect choice to supply the business as the financial Locum. On call to cover Susan Tague’s official position during holidays and in the event of any unexpected circumstances, Ian ensures Altero can provide clients with the high levels of uninterrupted service and advice they are used to, 12 months of the year.
Ian has been in financial planning for 30 years with extensive experience across the whole financial services industry, is fully qualified to give advice and operates throughout the London area.
Quite the workaholic he finds little time for relaxing, although he admits to being a ‘child of the sixties’ James Bond fan and enjoys biographies. Always receptive to extending his business acumen he is an avid reader of business books, believing there is always something new to learn. Television has little appeal, although he does enjoy University Challenge, Only Connect and a good comedy.
Doug Wilson Account Manager

With a natural interest in figures and finance, Doug has spent sixteen years in financial services and as one of Altero’s Account Managers is often the first point of contact for new clients. Gathering vital background financial information, Doug researches the world marketplace to match products from pensions to investments to suit each clients’ individual financial requirements.
Thereafter, Doug becomes Altero’s very own Portfolio Manager, dealing with the day to day handling of clients’ financial affairs, including performance reports and keeping up to date with any changes or fluctuations within the financial markets.
Born in Cape Town, Doug previously worked for Old Mutual the leading international savings and investments group, before travelling to the UK in 1998 for a holiday. The hustle and bustle of London appealed to Doug and recognising it as a worldwide centre of financial excellence, he decided to stay.
Off the financial track he is a keen runner and has completed five marathons, including London, New York and Helsinki. Despite growing up in the sunny lands of South Africa, Doug loves the different seasons the English weather brings along with log fires in the winter. Adding to his diverse talents he relaxes while reading adventure novels, is a wide traveller and enjoys rugby, squash, cricket and football.
To pursue his love of travelling, Doug is currently enjoying a sabbatical.
Mike Jordan Administration Support Assistant

As always there is an unsung hero in the office whose work is essential to the smooth running of the office, and for Altero this is admin guru Mike. The groundwork ensuring that paperwork is where it should be, clients’ telephone calls are answered swiftly and efficiently, messages get to the right people and schedules are on target is all in a day’s business for Mike.
He has lived in London for 44 years, has a background in accounts together with comprehensive experience working for local government where the constant contact with the public enriched his ability to communicate with people on all levels.
As a keen walker Mike likes to spend his leisure hours exploring towns, villages and cities the length and breadth of the UK. With a particular interest in Medieval England Mike heads for places rich in architectural history such as Shrewsbury, York and Bath.
Taking a bus or train he alights where it takes his fancy and with a penchant for taking the road less travelled, he seeks out hidden cobbled streets and isolated paths. Mike enjoys sport but from ‘afar’ preferring to watch or listen to it on the television and radio. When he isn’t wearing out his shoe leather, he is a keen movie buff and his favourite television programmes are ‘Have I got News for You’, ‘Antiques Roadshow’, ‘The Two Ronnies’.
